CALYPSO COTTAGE began as a dream six years ago...
Stacie and Pete Meislohn had been living in Southampton, NY for the past 20 years and were ready for a change. After taking a vacation to North Carolina and falling in love with the charming coastal town of Beaufort... They decided to open a little shop that would capture their interpretation of a refined coastal lifestyle and feature "Chic Finds For The Well-Traveled Beachcomber". Having both been in high-end retail for most of their lives, CALYPSO COTTAGE is a treasure trove of exquisite and unique items - decorative accessories, tabletop items, MATOUK bedding, the latest design books, small gorgeous gifts and indulgences, delicious perfumes, candles and soaps... and Stacie's exclusive jewelry designs - CC BIJOUX... all housed in an historic 1935 fisherman's cottage.
Stacie had her first shop, Cheznu, in Palm Beach at the age of 19 and went on to a career in high-fashion and precious jewelry working for such names as Courreges, Yves Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co. in NYC.
Born on Martha's Vineyard and raised in the Bahamas and Palm Beach, Stacie has somehow always lived on an island and that aesthetic is evident in her CC BIJOUX Paradise Inspired jewelry collection, sold exclusively through both stores and the website.
For the last 18 years Pete has managed the Hampton's most popular nursery- Eastland Farms on the Montauk Highway in Water Mill- known for its 6 acres of lush and unusual plant material and knowledgeable help.
They invite you to experience CALYPSO COTTAGE! Do drop in to the little yellow cottage with the green tin roof if you're in the neighborhood. They're just over the Beaufort bridge ... and recently, CALYPSO COTTAGE has opened a second location on S. Front Street in New Bern - just a few doors down from the Convention Center.
